This weekend saw 65 teams compete for the chance to be crowned 2016 FCUSA New Jersey Summer Invitational Champions. The tournament held over two sites in Basking Ridge, New Jersey featured some of the best summer and club teams from the East Coast competing against one another.
The competition featured 13 brackets for both boys and girls with an incredibly high standard of soccer on show over the two days of play. FCUSA New Jersey Director of Coaching, Joe Quigley, was very pleased at the ability level and quality of the soccer, he said:
“This tournament has always been renowned for its high quality of play and this year has been no different. No matter which field or bracket you look at the standard of soccer is fantastic. Even though some of these teams may not have been together that long, they are all playing at an excellent level.”
The two days were played in great spirits and the tournament was blessed with glorious weather throughout, which really added to the spectacle and excitement of the weekend.
